Cleaning windows

My Ride: 2005 BMW 530i Oriental Blue Metalic Beige InteriorPremium PackageCold Weather Package
I cleaned all my windows with windex but that left tons of streaks. Does anyone have any tips on how to get them nice and clean?

Straight scoop, here it is. Spend all kinds of $ on all kinds of products.
Then go to your favorite auto parts store and lay out 4 bucks for Eagle One 20/20

it works great. I don't get the aerosol. just the spray bottle.
Inside and outside of windshields. Wipe on one side of rag, Wipe off other. Easiest and best stuff I've ever used.
Cheap and readily available too.
Try it, You'll Like It.

Stoner is a very good window cleaner, but i think the key is the cloth that you use.A quality MF cloth even with plain water can do the job well.

Gentleman, believe it or not the old fashion remedy works well. 50/50 mix of vinegar and water with a quality microfiber cloth. This detail is the last thing to do after washing and waxing. Spray on the one side of the cloth and wipe off with the other. Safe for tinted windows! Then you can put whatever glass sealant you want.

Be sure to wash your windows in the shade, not in the direct sun. And if you had your car in the sun, then park it in the shade and let if cool off first before washing the windows. I agree with the wipe on with one side of MF, wipe off with the other side.

I like Stoner's Invisible Glass. +1 to those who recommend it. The key is a cleaner with no surfactants (ie. detergents). Most of the good ones contain alcohol instead of ammonia since alcohol is a superior cleaner and leaves no residue. And if you are cost conscious and don't want to spend $3-4 a can for Stoner's, Sprayway Glass Cleaner is a great alternative IMHO. Works just as well as Stoners for less than 1/2 the price

I've used both, and can tell no difference in results. BTW, I've seen Sprayway advertised on detailing product sites for about the same price as Stoner's. Sam's is a great deal if you have one close by.
I use MF or Terry Cloth to do my windows. And I make sure my "car" towels are machine washed, but never use any kind of fabric softener in the process. That residue will really streak up the glass.

I use Griot's Garage window cleaner with good results. I always use two cloths, one to apply the cleaner and another dry cloth immediately after wards to dry the window. And as previously mentioned, wash the windows in the shade.
