I have been reading that one should not wash a car in direct sunlight. I assume no one is washing their car under a tree due to potential bird droppings and tree sap. So how do you guys wash your cars? Does anybody use some kind of car canopy? If so, where did you get it from?

I've never been too concerned with washing my cars in direct sunlight (hard to avoid in sunny CA ). Just don't let the suds stay on too long, or even the clear water for that matter, or you could end up with water spots. Definitely never wax in direct sunlight.

I am ringed by old oaks on my pad in front of garage. So I can pick before 10 AM or after 4 PM and have shade but not be under trees. Perfect for my hand washes.
