I don't know for a very good solution but i do think that if you leave your car more than 1 day from the bug attack they somehow tend to get into the paint and no matter how much you insist with the pressure hoze it's very hard to remove.

My car is going in for a 5-step paint care system by Meguiar, so hopefully they'll get all the crap out. I'll ask them for a good product to remove bugs, then I'll let you guys know..

I went into a dept store bought a turtle wax bug, tar, tree sap remover and went to work.. Basically washing the car then spray the bug remover on the dead bugs and wipe. Was very easya nd simple.. I don't see what the fuss is all about.

For 24-hours or less? All I ever use is a plain nylon mesh covered sponge. I usually buy them in a pack of ten at time, just like household cleaning packs. Hey, they'll remove them after three or four days unless you like to sun cure them first.
When on the road, particularly on the Gulf Coast, I use the windshield bug remover (truck stop variety) on my bumpers, mirrors and lights on refueling. That makes cleanup much easier when I get to my destination. Also, hides the 100+ mph bug smashes from Smokey in case he decides to strike up a new acquaintance.

i bought some and you are right. Front is smooth as glass again now. Spray it on. Wipe with cloth a bit like wax and then remove it like wax with another cloth.

There are plenty of bug and tar (plus wax) removers that will work if that is the route you want to go. I like my mesh covered sponges because they do not remove wax, or other protection. I've had a can of bug and tar remover for ten years that hardly ever gets touched.

Car polish works best, apply with a clean soft non lint cloth. Wipe off, car must be dry! That?s what the detailers in Germany use.

i have a soft brush that i use on the alloys and the bugs dont stand a chance and the paintwork is fine
