Well after finally being happy with the bodywork on my E60, (has taken along time), I decided to tackle the xenon headlights.

Now over the years it looks like the UV protection has slowly worn away and also some stone chip marks were present and also looking generally tired and not in keeping with the rest of the car.

I masked up the areas around the headlights and put some plastic sheeting over my bumper to try and keep it a little clean after all the wet sanding.

Okay onto the pics, sorry not the best (how bloody difficult is it to capture headlight marks without just getting a reflection of yourself!)

This is the right hand side and pretty much shows what I had to work with, not massively bad but something I knew I could improve on.

Process was mask up, rub down with 600 - 1000 - 3000 wet and dry then correct with my trusty porter cable and a small cutting pad using 3m fast cut plus and a drop of menz final finish (ran out of 3m ultra fine).

Finally after all the work and a good ipa wipe down I applied some Gtechniq C4for some protection.

Left hand side corrected, right hand side to be done tommorow.

I must admit before attempting this on my car I bought a crappy old scrathed up headlight from an old Astra from a scarppy for a fiver and had a play until I was confident to correct my own headlights.

Great looking refinish job on the headlights!!

For those of us in the USA ... what detail / boat / aircraft shops sell Gtechniq C4? I've searched but the blogs report it is not sold here.

Great work! I love my 7424, nothing else seems to compare! Corrects everything on the outside of your car.
