My Ride: no work done yet, just go the car a week ago but looking to do some work soon
Thumbs up

I have been looking through some posts and noticed that many people use the foam method, so i spent all day looking for some car foam went all over and couldnt find it. Can you tell me where to get the car foam as well what is needed for it to come out as foam and how do you use it. Do you leave it and let it dry by itself or do you rinse it. Also right after the foam would i be able to use the clay? Someone please help me detail my car its black and i have some swirl marks, tell me what i need and the steps i would really appriciate it

Hi there.

For now I can help you with Autofoam question, but if you wish to know more about something else, please PM me.

To use Autofoam how it was supposed to, you will need a power washer + a decent foam lance. Then you make a mixture of AF and warm water to the little container of the foam lance and then you can spray the car. The foam will stay on the car approx. 4-8 minutes (depending on the mixture and the type of the powerwasher). You shouldn't let it dry on to panels, but to rinse it off after a while. Autofoam works great, but I would definitely do a handwash before the clay. Depends on how dirty the car still is.

I don't know how to get Autofoam from the US, but I can give you couple UK links:
- Autofoam from UltimateFinish.co.uk
- Foam lance from UltimateFinish.co.uk

- And Autofoam straight from the manufacturer, Bilt-Hamber Laboratories

I hope this helps !

ps. And don't hesitate to contact me if you wish!

So the foam lace or the bottle that you attach has to be to a power washer, because i though i saw someone having it attached to a regular garden house. Is this possible? THANKS

The choice you're talking about is not a "foam lance", it's a "foam gun". It makes foam too, but it's not as thick as one produced with a foam lance. And yes, the foam gun can be used with a regular garden house. It looks almost the same as foam lance. You can get one from the ultimatefinish.co.uk.

So that you can see the difference in produced foam. They're not using Autofoam as a shampoo, but it will work quite the same with the Autofoam.
