My Ride: E60 - 2006 (530i) Automatic --- Options: Professional Navigation, Voice Control, i-Drive, Blue Tooth enabled, Adaptive Lights, Active Steering, High Beam Assist, TV Function, Active Seats (Leather) with Airconditioning / Heating Option, Wooden Trim, Sports Package, Extended Aircon function, Anti Dazzle Rear & Side View Mirrors, BMW Assist, BMW Online Option, Dynamic Drive, Tyres: Option 123 - 245/40 R18 (RFT)
Default

I have owned two BMW's (318i - 2003 and 325i - 2005) before I bought my E60 - 530i (2006) and I must say each one of these cars have given me outstanding performance and comfort. E60 has both: Excellent Drive and Comfort + lots of nice options. Although, couple of nice features could be added to this car to make it more luxurious, options like (Leather Handles above doors inside the car, Comfort seats as standard option, better quality leather for sun shades, comfort windscreen as standard option, Auxillary Input jack, Alarm System, Head Light washing system and the list goes on......). E60 portrays a certain type of attitude on the road and I love that .....

While changing my 325i (E90) I went to see the Lexus GS300 / Audi A6 and man they just did'nt feel right . Although both of them had a couple of nice features which BMW does not have, but, still they was no way near a BMW.

I think E60 gives a mix of Luxury and Sports. Cheers ....

You missed "all of the above". Those are all reasons why I bought one.

i chose the e60 because:
- none of its competitors offer manual or sequential manual transmissions
- bmw owners club has more events (can you even imagine lexus owners doing an autocross or track day?! LOL)

I wanted to avoid the option that appears to be "not" polarized, namely the word luxurious. Most will agree that Sport/Performance is engrained in the BMW tradition. Most will either like, dislike, or not care for the e60 Looks. But Luxury has a wider definition (inherent relativeness). Let's not add the word "prestige." It only means "favorably recognized" and not necessarily luxurious despite the common association.

So on the list:

1. Performance comes first (not just engine power here but the overall driving experience)
2. Looks comes second, and
3. Luxury comes third, but without the luxury, you might not buy a e60, right?

. . . and without looks, furthermore, you would not buy an e60 for sure. The e60's worth is really in it's performance category and looks. Luxury is just auxillary preferred.

Do you agree?

Count me in for another "all of the above" vote. No other car offers such a great balance of all these items...

(Also, you forgot to add "the existence of E60.net" to the list. )

All of the above. However, my definition of luxury includes that techno edge peculiar to BMW.

My wife has a MB CLS 500 which is quite luxurious, but lacks Blue Tooth, i drive, and HUD, which to me, are essential luxuries.

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, that's the number one reason I bought the car.
