My son is looking at purchasing wheel and tire insurance from a BMW dealer in LA for his 06 330 with the sport package. His options are:

At South Bay BMW he can get wheel and tire insurance for 3 years for $895. The insurance is from Fidelity Warranty Services, Inc.

At Glendale BMW he can get wheel and tire insurance for 3 years for $595. The insurance is from Nation Safe.

What are your thoughts and ideas on his options?

I use Paragon Auto Club $30.00 a year for wheel and tire coverage.$ 20.00 to fix a flat. $350 per
incident for wheel and tire max $1400 per year.I used them once, and hope I never have to use them again, to replace a tire, had the check within 3 weeks after I put in the claim without any hassel.
Good luck
cheers

Based on the recommendation of JSpira, I also joined Paragon (formerly The Auto Club.com or something) but have not had any claims so I can't say first hand how well they operate. One thing that's been bugging me about them is that the "member login" section of their website has been "under construction" for like a year now with no sign of any change. It's starting to raise my level of skepticism about how well they operate, etc. If anyone else has experience with these guys, please chime in!

I wouldn't let that concern me,like I said I didn't have any problems and from what I have read others didn't either. You have a ton of phone #'s and web sites to go to to answer any questions.
I also went to them based on JSpire's recommendations.

At the recommendation of JSpira I called Flow BMW. I bought 2 policies. 1 for my 08 BMW 550 and 1 for my son's 06 330. $399 for the my policy. $379 for the my son's policy.

Terms. You must call before any repair is made. Tires must minimum of 3/32" tread. Good for 5 years or $4,000 in claims maximum. If you sell the car whatever is not used is returned to you on a pro-rata basis.

Thank you JSpira. You just saved my son and I $1,000 plus each of us received 5 years of coverage at this price instead of 3 years.

These tire/wheel warranties were pitched to me when I bought my CPO 2007 550i. I was really only interested in the wheel portion. The detail that the wheel literally had to be chunked/bent...basically totaled prior to any replacement, turned me away. I am more worried about curb rash and minor lip dings. If the wheels can hold air, no warranty coverage.

I may look into the paragon option above.

I just called Paragon to renew my plan - Cost me $27 last year ... THIS YEAR, SAME PLAN $ 109!

Their sales guy said they have a new plan administrator and all plans went up in price!

YIKES ... Guess I will have to raise my prices 400% too.
