I believe the value of a CPO over a non CPO 545 is probably around US$3000 if you look at Edmunds.com

I think it gosts $1700-1800 for a BMW dealer to put a car into the CPO program. On top of that, they might have extra costs to recondition the car so it meets CPO standards, such as new tires and so forth.

You can't CPO as a second owner but go to the dealer and it should cost you $2,000-$2,500 for 3 years up to 100k or so.
That's right only a BMW dealer can CPO a car. Meaning the dealer must own the car. You can't bring your car to a BMW dealer and have them CPO it, however you can buy an extended warranty though them.

I CPO'ed my leased '05 545i before I bought it, or more accurately my dealer did it before they bought it and sold it to me. It cost around $2k.
