Thinking off getting an 08 550i, how much off MSRP would you consider to be a good deal. Hell I only got 1K off my 06 525i, not again, its a good deal or no deal.

The dealer shouldnt make more than $1000 over their cost. I say this only because I know you can get that deal at many different dealers around the country as per this forum and others. good luck.

My Ride: *on order* expected 12/20/07: 2008 550i space gray, gray leather, anthracite bamboo, sport pkg, logic7, iPod, HD, Sirius, Navigation, head-up display, comfort access, heated front seats, fold-down seats
The question shouldn't be how much under sticker price, but rather how much over invoice. See: http://www.e60.net/faq/#pq1
I recently ordered a 550i for $800 over invoice.
I went to costco.com and clicked on their Car Buying program... they referred me to a BMW dealer. Their fleet manager called me and gave me the "no hassle" price of $800 over invoice for any 550i I wanted, whether it was one on the lot, traded from another dealer or a custom order.
Good luck!

Here is why I ask, when I bought my first BMW, my current 525, while negotiating the dealer would only come off 1K from MSRP. I called another dealer, there best price was about the same. After speaking to my dealer, he said the way BMW keeps there resale values up is to not give them away or to sell them $500 over invoice, its not Ford or Chevy he says. Made sense to me, until I found this forum and realized that many of you paid a great deal below MSRP. This time I will do it my way or no way. Just want to see what is the Nat'l Avg for a 550 or as Edmunds says the TMV.

I paid $2400 over invoice, probably could have done better at another dealer. I wanted to stay with my current dealer because of the service they provided. But, keep in mind I ordered my 2008 in Nov 2006 even before they annoinced the LCI for March 2007. You should be able to get a better deal now, because it so close to March 2009, the MY09s will be branded for the US market.
To further my point about number crunching, my father went with a dealership in Brooklyn instead for an 04 745 because they gave him a better deal than my dealer would give him. But now he regrets getting the vehicle from them, they have provided him horrible service and no customer loyalty.
Good luck on your search.
