Warranty Really Worth It ( Your Perspective )
#1
Hey guys, a friend of mine is planning to buy a 525I has about 72k on it.
Hes trying to fingure out if its worth getting an exteneded warranty for 2k dollars for another 50k miles, or 2 yrs. From a company called GE. Pretty much covers almost everything.
Or is the 525I pretty reliable as for as breaking down. Thanks alot for reading this and posting your comments. Thanks guys

For 2K thats not bad... but I would be highly suspicious if it covers "everything" Read the fine fine fine print... even BMWs own personal extended warranty has some electronics like iDrive and software updates that are not covered... but I've heard people were able to get them covered... so really check to make sure the GE coverage does indeed cover stuff like iDrive and software updates... thats where most problems occur, software...
I've been thinking about the extended warranty myself... but BMWs 2 years 50K miles warranty is about $3K... so thats kinda steep, still more thinking for me...

From a company called GE.
As was said, GE or otherwise, read the fine print. There'll be lots of exclusions and exceptions I'd imagine. Good luck,

Bumping a very old thread but I figure I might as well sense it is the same question I have.....
Anyways, I have the chance to get a GE Fully comprehensive warranty. Does anyone know if it is worth it? Used it without trouble? Scam?
I am getting either a 2006 or 2007 M5 but I want to make sure this warranty will actually cover the Electronics, SMG, etc. in the M5
The guy I am buying the car through says a lot of his clients have bought the warranty and have had no trouble using it at BMW dealerships.
Thanks for any insight or thoughts you have.
