So thinking of buying an E60 530d but if its over the magic 100k mark how do we stand getting a warranty?...the first 3 I have tried to get quotes on say nono to 100K cars.
And what if the car has 93K? what happens when the car hits 100K?

when it hits 100K? nothing... you're car will still be running the same as it was when it had 99,999 miles on it... its not like it'll explode and disintegrate at 100K.

I meant if you took out a warranty on a car say with 95K then when it went over 100 would it still be covered by that warranty? as I say some companies will not provide any warranty for a car that has done 100k even if it has a full BMW service history, presumably because of the impending explosion about to take place.

Try telling that to warranty companies.

If you bought your extended warranty at 95K miles then you'll only have 5K miles of warranty till it expires... I'm pretty sure that'll be how it works... make sure you read the contact carefully...

I have seen some (do a google search), but they are so expensive that you might as well spend the extra money on a CPO with lower mileage.

Warranty Direct covered my car at around 90k, and because I pay monthly DD rather than an annual policy it just keeps rolling (now at 122K). A couple of points:
1) Ring them up, don't buy online - you'll get a better deal.
2) The % they will pay for parts goes down with higher mileage, eg: they pay labour + 100% of parts up to 90k, labour + 90% parts up to 100k etc
