Sorry if this is a repost. I was wondering if it will be useful to maintain a list of frequently seen mechanical issues with E60s as they age. Perhaps for those already out of warranty or about to come out from one, such information could be useful to determine when to expect repairs and plan accordingly, such buying an extended warranty or otherwise.

Thoughts?

On top of mechanical issues (I believe the E60 is pretty good mechanically) - you should be more worried about electrical stuff more than anything.

Alright I'll bite since I plan on keeping my e60 a while (I drive too much to lease). Here's what I'd expect for long term maintenance and ownership.

Every 50K miles: Tune up and new brake pads
At 75K-100K miles: New belts, hoses, bushings, shocks and radiator flush.
Probably will need around 100K: New rotors, front control arms; and battery.
