I saw a Titanium Gray E60 in a BMW showroom today and it looked a little different than many others that I had seen before ( last year and in the beginning of this year). So I opened the hood and looked at the BMW paint ID sticker and it said "Titangrau II" with the code "A36". The code for Titanium Gray in both the US and the German brochures that I got last year is "892". The car I saw today was under flourescent lights and the ones I had seen before were always outdoors, so it was not a direct comparison. However, the new one (TG II) seemed not to have the slight green tinge that the old TG sometimes had in certain lighting conditions. Also, it seemed just a bit lighter in shade, but that could have been caused by the bright flourescent lights in the showroom.

So does anyone know the production date that BMW replaced TG with TG II on the E60? I am assuming that they started out with TG (I) on the E60 and then switched to TG II, but when was the switchover? Sep. 2003 production (when the REAL MY 2004 production started)?.......or perhaps Jan. 2004 production?

Thanks in Advance,
rodybmw

I was told Ti Grey II is a new BMW color on the E60, debuted in 2004 production cars. It STILL has a very slight dark green tint to it, but much less than the Ti Gray I. I really like it...I compared it side by side with the popular Silver grey and Ti Silver...

In case anyone cares, my white car says "Alpinweiss 3".

How many freaking shades of white do they need?

For the '03 model year the color was Titanium Gray (892). For the '04 model year the color is Titanium Grey (A36). Note that BMW changed the spelling from Gray to Grey as well as changing the color slightly.
