What are my other options?
Thanks,
Dan

You are correct, sir. The dealer price should be around 3 bills. I had one done for my son's 325xi at a NJ dealer and that was the cost +/-.

Depends where you go. My dealer wants over $1000! I called BMW NA and they said they cant do anything, the dealer makes the price. Crooks.

I was just charged 2 hours of labor, about 230. I did the install and dropped the car off.

Thanks for the responses guys. I may just suck it up and do this. I will likely need to have my car reprogrammed anyway since I don't have the CD changer. I don't think I even have MP3 capability for the CD player (what kinda shit is that? on a 60k car). I need this done for an iphone.. does anyone have this setup to use with their iphone?
It seems like the ipod/iphone would need to stay in the glove compartment once installed, is that correct? ..might be very inconvenient opening your glove compartment everytime you need to answer the phone..
Opinions appreciated, thanks!

To clarify, are you talking about the Aux input to hook up your iPod or the full iPod integration kit? The Aux input is only about $150-$200 installed but the full integration kit is around ~$600. The part itself for the integration kit is already $300 but you can buy it from Garry Romani of Newport BMW, NJ for 25% off. See the sticky thread at the top of the Parts & Accessories Forum for his contact info. Labor is about another $300 or so.

Will the aux input appear in the glove compartment just like the full kit? Can someone please explain the differences in benefits between the two kits?
THANKS!
