Folks,

My local dealer here in NJ has offered me the following car:


530xi
Automatic
Silver Gray Metallic w/Black Leather
Premium Package
Cold Weather Package
Navigation
Sat Radio
Fold Down Seats
Premium Radio

The car has 3K miles on it (they claim it's an executive car) and are asking 54,400.

Any thoughts on if this is a good -to- great deal are appreciated!

I don't think that's a good deal at all.

For a brand new 2006 (a "real" 2006, i.e., post-September production) 530xi with the same options, the invoice price is $51680. I and many others have gotten $1500 over invoice. Even at $2500 over invoice, you're still at $54180. And that's for a *new* car, optioned exactly the way you want it, plus a post-September production 2006.

So unless they shave another $2000 to $3000 off of that, AND it's exactly what you want, I would pass on that deal.

I agree with das completely!! Go to the dealer with the invoice prices (you can find them in this forum) and state your case.

I would rather marry a virgin for about the same price. it feels good when you pop up her cherry around 500 miles.

Premium Package

Car is at sea right now and due into Jersey City on the 29th of October.

Dealer quoted me $500 over invoice (3rd purchased car from them) which I knew thanks to this forum. Many thanks to all!!
