You are wrong. Its all done by ship. New Jersey is the first port and Cal. is the last with I believe two ports inbetween .

I ordered a 2008 550i on February 19, 2007. It left the docs in Germany on March 10. Shipping line is NYK. Expected date to reach California is 28 days later on April 7th. I was told by the dealer and BMW NA that all west coast shipments go by boat through the panama canal. As I live in Hawaii, then I have another week on the water after the car is processed at the processing center in Oxard. They use a different carrier, Matson, for all the shipments from the west coast to Hawaii.
Expected transit time to hawaii is expected to total at least 6 weeks and probable 7 weeks until delivery. Its killing me.
