So I bought a 2008 535i brand new November of 2008 from Scottsdale BMW. I have had to take my car in multiple times for common service issues like the fuel pump, Turbos, wastegates, and programming. What bothers me is when the service department leaves bolts missing on the engine cover, hose clamps loose, and then doesn't put the car back together causing me to get my car towed to the closest dealership (not scottsdale) 2 different times only to discover a ground strap was left loose causing the starter to go out!!!

Because of all these issues and poor service work and do to the fact that I keep my cars a long time and drive a lot I got an extended warrantee. The dealership only gave me $50 off because of their horrible service mistakes.

So last week I did an oil change and a huge bolt fell out of the trap door and my car started having a loud rattle and increased battery discharge.I took it back to scottsdale BMW and they said the bolt was from the exhaust causing the rattle. They also found and oil leak, probably another bolt they did not put on right. The battery had also gone bad in only 3 years, most likely from the loose ground strap. They want to charge me $500 for a new battery but all the other work will be done under the extended warantee.

Is there anything I can do about the poor service I have recieved. My extended warranty requires me to take is to scottsdale for the low deductible.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO BMW of North Scotsdale is the only solutin I can think of.

Have you ever gotten an email from BMW regarding your service experience? That's a good place to start, because your feedback goes back directly to the service manager.

Also, feel free to call BMWNA and complain and let the service manager know that you will be doing that. Hopefully, they will realize the seriousness of the issue and try and salvage their reputation.
