I asked him about when the 550i was coming out (knowing it was November/December 05 as an 06 model) and he said 'oh, not for another 18 months'. I said, 'are you sure? I heard it was November/December', and he said 'no, at least 12 months, the 650i has to come out first'. Of course, there is a sea of 545i's on the lot, so he's lying so I get a 545i instead of waiting for the 550i. I need a recommendation for an honest salesperson at Irvine BMW if you have one - I plan to do ED lease of a 550i

You can try John Bohas at Irvine BMW he's nice and easy to work with. Although, I would highly recommend Dan Breakman at Pacific BMW in Glendale. Dan is little goofy but not your typical car salesman you might want to give him a shot.

Nope, he was in all likelyhood and incompetent idiot and was faking it. Although there are some great people selling cars, the average salesperson is on the way out. Very high turnover.

Interesting.

I may have just purchased my first BMW, but I have boought a lot of cars, new and used (in the states).

If there is one rule of thumb, never use a sales guy, always deal dircetly with the sales manager.

before you show up at the dealership:

1.. know what car and options you want.
2.. research invoice price for each vehicle and option(print this out and bring with).
3.. call and make appointment with sale manager.
4.. when you find a car, do the math for the car and options in front of him and tell him what you will pay for the car.

Do not let the sale manager push you off to a salesman.

I made an appointment with the sales manager and when I showed up he tried to pawn me on a salesman. I told him he has the car I want, and I was ready to write him a check and he went right to work.

Funny, while I was with the manager, every salesman came into his office trying to make deals work.

When he asked me what I wanted to do, I told him I would write him a check for $_ _ _ _ _ ._ _ right now for that car.

He instantly agreed and I walked out $835.00 over invoice.

My Ride: 2005 545i SMG. Titanium Grey with Grey interior and Anthracite wood.

I was a happy 2 car client of Irvine BMW until my 545 SMG needed to be bought back and the management wasn't willing to work with me to get another one at a price Modesto BMW was willing to give me .

It was a shame , up until then, I thought I was getting a good deal, but the Irvine BMW management just wouldn't budge on the numbers like Valley BMW in Modesto did.

If your willing to do a little drive give Hank Castillo at Long Beach BMW a call.
562 427-5494. It is just off the 405 at Cherry in the Signal Hill area. I did two Euro deliveries with him in last two years and got what I thought was a fair deal. No hassle. Hank is the fleet salesman and the Euro delivery person.
