Rear brake light bulb
#1
My right rear brake light bulb is blown. Does anyone know if this is under either the new car warranty, maintenance warranty or CPO?
The bulb is probably inexpensive but I will be going to the dealership for service in a week. Was wondering if I should wait to repair it or just do it myself today.

BMW lamps are sensitive to bulb resistance and it is suggested that the correct replacement (e.g. silver base) is used. If you buy and use one to avoid getting bulb error messages, let your dealer replace with "BMW" bulb when you go for service and keep the store bought for a spare.
BTW, I've not had a bulb go out for years - dealer should trouble shoot any voltage or socket issues when it's in the shop.
Just saw your "accident post" - I'll bet the shock of getting rear-ended last year weakened the filament of the brake bulb causing its early demise.
