I must say I got my latest car at Prestige BMW in Ramsey, New Jersey, and I am definetely not too thrilled with their service. The place is like a big assembly line, not much of a personal touch. Not to mention the fact that their loaner cars are toyota avalons. My previous car I got from Pace BMW in Westchester and the service manager John Gannon was the best at taking car of his clients. I am trading in the E60 in a few months and picking up the 645ci and I think its safe to say I am going back to Pace.

Has anyone on the board used either Prestige or Pace?

If my service guy tried to loan me a Toyota, I'd ram my 545 straight up his ass.

Evenfow, trust me the thought has occured to me. I guess their rationale is that because they are a big dealership its impossible to give a bmw loaner to everyone. I just take a pass on their toyota and have someone acompany me with my SUV which incidentally is a Toyota Landcruiser.

Bankerboyz - My uncle is a mechanic at Pace BMW. He's been there for over 20 years. I'll pass along the good word.

How accurate is dealerrater.com? I'm tempted to take my car to New Century instead of Assael due to the bad reports on Assael.

It seem though that disgruntled customers would be more apt to post a review or reply on that website.

I take my car to Auto Kocher in Wieblingen but might as well say Heidelberg. My SA is Jerry. He's got a long hard to pronounce German name but all the Americans all him Jerry. He's great. Really pays attention to your car. He even took me in the back and showed me the same thing on two other cars when we were talking about the i-drive. They were still wrapped in the shipping film.

I believe the German BMW mechanics are better. (Sorry Iceman). Over here, the German's don't take any crap about their cars. You better get it fixed and fixed right the first time. Wish US car dealers and mechanics were like that.
