How long do you have to wait before your dealership can find out your production number?
My dealership told me that they need about a week before they can find out my production number. I thought this was something that you get right away once your placed an order....Did your dealership tell you the same thing?

ordered 545i on 03/05/2005,
production number on 03/10/2005,
vin# on 03/25/2005.
She is in the production now with the completion date 04/05/2005.
My dealer said she should arrive in 3-4 weeks from April 5th.

If they dont have a production order, they cannot really order the car. It is technically a pre order. I ordered mine, got the production number IMMEDIATELY, and looked up the car on BMW owners circle. It knew the color already, and in two days, all my options were listed. Your dealer is full of CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like production allocations come out around the 1st 1/3 of the month.
I ordered my 545 in Dec of 2003 for an April 16 2004 pickup. So production would have been mid March. I wasn't given a production # till Feb 14th.
