Performance Center Delivery
Has anyone taken delivery of their BMW at the performance center in Spartanburg, SC?? I was not told of this option by my dealer when I bought my 545, but I recently toured the plant and they said delivery in Spartanburg was absolutely free and included driving your model on the track at high speeds and getting to push it a little.
I am thinking about calling them up and asking for this experience, even though my 545 is 9 months old now. I live just over an hour from Spartanburg.
Has anyone done this delivery method, and is it worth it??? Is it indeed free, and do you think I could get the package retroactively, even though I have already taken delivery of my car?
I appreciate the insight of the members of E60.net!!

I walked in the door twenty minutes ago after returning from taking delivery at the Performance Center. It is absolutely great!!! And yes, it is free. The $695 Destination charge is what covers the hotel and days expenses. (One night stay, dinner and breakfast at the hotel are included as well as a lunch at the Performance Center). The dealers really don't tell anyone about this option, it is up to the customer to say that is what he wants. I highly doubt you will be able to get it free, especially after taking delivery over 9 months ago. Look for my thread tonight about it! It was awesome! Love my new Car!

PCD is, in fact, free but I agree with Vitacura that you'll not likely be able to get anything free after taking delivery.
The track time, although fun, was pretty limited. You can get way more track time at a local CCA chapter driving school. They do have various other on-track programs at the Performance Center that you can attend -- although they aren't free, they're most likely worthwhile and fun.
Go with PCD on your next BMW!
