Well I kept the Bremerhaven webcam up all day and sure enough, the Patriot sailed this evening. Of course the shipping site's online tracking isn't showing anything just yet on my car but low and behold, just a few minutes ago, I got a call from my salesperson telling me that my car is on a boat! That's all the confirmation I need, I guess...

Ahoy mateys! Happy sailing!!

If it gets on the Patriot (which happens to be the ship my current E60 came over on) it should arrive in Charleston on 7/7 which would put it at the dealership around mid-July, I guess.
I really, really don't want to rain on your parade, but my car took 19 days to get 4000 miles from Nice (my ED drop-off point) to the port of NY. Pretty impressive, I think.

But . . . today is day 20 getting the car the remaining 300 miles from NY to Boston, and I still have no firm re-delivery date.

Waiting's a b*tch.

You're not raining on any parade, I've been there, done this, plenty of times. As a matter of fact, the Patriot, which left today, gets to Charleston on or about July 7th which is pretty much the normal voyage time due to stops and delays at other ports. (What's funny is that one of the next boats to leave Bremerhaven, the Freedom, will arrive at Charleston earlier than the Patriot!)

Three years ago, the Patriot got to Charleston on time but had to sit offshore for a few extra days before getting to the port because they were backed up. Back then, it really didn't matter to me as much because I was doing a Performance Center delivery so I knew what day I was going to go down way in advance. This time, I'm a little more relaxed because I'm going from an E60 to another E60 instead of last time going from an E39 to an E60...

The following threads from RF will give you a clue to how excited I was a little over three years ago...

Hey Rudy, how come you didn't get the trunk-mounted coffee maker and the platinum cup holders ???

I'm guessing you get Christmas and birthday cards from your dealer !

Still if you are going to get the best, then you might as well get the best with everything. Looks like a great car you're getting.

You mention comfort seats. Did you order these separately?

I notice that with the 550i in US you get 10-way seats as standard. These standard seats must be different to the 20-way comfort seats we can order in EU.

I think they include the 20-way (comfort seats) with the sport package. Otherwise, they're a $1200 option...

Here's something odd... I've been trying to track my car, came off the assemly line on 6/11 and looked like it was at the port on 6/14. I've been punching the vin number in at the ww website with nothing being found... until Monday night (I was on a break at a meeting). It came up with the ship Undine (that left on 6/14). Today I go back in there and it says that the cargo's not found... not sure what to make of that. I've been cutting/pasting the VIN so I'm pretty sure that it's not me. We'll see...

I'm having trouble as well. I'm 99% sure that my car is on the Patriot (sailed yesterday) but the WW site still doesn't return any information with my VIN. My dealer left me a message yesterday confirming I'm on a boat but he didn't tell me which one. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm actually on the Patriot or if I got on a boat that sailed earlier.

If the WW site doesn't show my car soon, I suppose I'm going to ask the dealer what boat it's on to clear things up. I remember that the WW site was not that far behind real time so that's why I'm wondering now...
