thanks for the feedback. will not order vent/nasca but will get HUD. as far as SMG, i'm taking my wife to the dealer this weekend for a test drive. if she likes it/can handle it will go that way, otherwise to Steptronic.

The 330 or z4 has the same type of SMG that you would get in the 5 series. My dealer did not have one in the 5 series, so I test drove a 330 with it. Be careful when you test it for your impressions. It has been discussed on thread before, may want to do a search, but the transmission does take some time to learn, and just one test drive may not be valid, not smooth shifts as might be expected. The SMG is more of an alternative to the Manual than alternative to Step.

I test drove a 545i last week with SMG.. i think initial impression was it was slightly jerky from 1st to 2nd.. but after that.. not too bad if you let off gas when you shift........ i say try it.... and you'll love it...

I ordered the HUD with the NAV package. It's great with NAV on doesent do much oterwise (only shows MPH). I got the SMG and it's great fun. I just passed 4000 miles and I'm completely used to not having a clutch pedal. The steering wheel paddles make shifting easy and I use these more than the stick.

Shifting on my car between 1 & 2 seemed to be much smoother after the recent software upgrade. Maybe I'm just more used to the feel. Other options I like having include the sunshades and cold weathe pkg. THe only thing I wish I added was the Logic 7. But Iwas already past my budget and wanted the sports pkg and SMG.
