Ordered my car yesterday and the last thing dealer said was in a couple of weeks he would send me the VIN number so I could track production.

I didn't realize that there was a production number generated when they actually order the vehicle from BMWNA. I emailed my sales rep back today about that and he said I would have it in 7-10 days?

Does that make sense to anyone?

I replied asking why I would have to wait 7-10 days for them to order the car and have not heard back. Is this standard procedure? They took a 5% non-refundable deposit from me.

I guess you all were right about waiting for a new car to arrive from Euro; it takes patience but I don't want to wait an entire week just to get the order in.

5% non refundable? Doesn't sound right. Who is your dealer?

that is what I said in a previous thread to him. Lately, I haven't heard of deposits being required at all, let alone non-refundable.. that is BS! period.

BMW of Arlington; the reality is I am ordering a 550i with manual tranny and they know they'd have a hard time selling it if I backed out. They have a black 530ix with manual that someone backed out on that's been there 4 months and no one will buy. I'm fine with it really as the money just goes towards my final payment and I got the car at $1500 over invoice. Saved close to $4500 off MSRP.
