After sending out 10 emails to dealers this weekend and visiting 2 dealers, I made a deal on a new 550 this morning, built to my specs. $2500 over invoice, which was by far the best offer anyone made. The car is status 112 with week 38 production and should be hear in early November. WooHoo! I am excited to join the ranks here and let go of my E39 540, which has been a great car, but is in serious need of replacement.

Thanks, I also think I got a good deal as 9 other dealers couldn't come close. I got every option EXCEPT: fold down rear seats, Active Cruise, rear seat heating and rear side airbags. I got Steptronic tranny with Titanium Silver with black leather and anthracite wood and anthracite headliner. I can't wait for this thing to get here!

Hey... I am interested in ordering a 2006 550... and I live here in Los Angeles. What dealers do you recommend? Also... did you have to negotiate hard to get the $2500 over invoice?

Here's how I got that price... I first went to a dealer near my house and met with a sales guy that I'd been talking to for a while. The best he could do was $800 off MSRP, which I rejected and walked out. I came home and sent out 10 identical emails to 10 different dealers here in Southern California. 10 minutes after I sent out these 10 emails, my cell phone rang. It was a sales person at a dealer very close to my office responding to my email. I told her I was not interested in negotiating, but that she should give me her best shot, and if the price was right, I would be in to meet with her the next morning to order the car and sign the deal. She offered $2500 over invoice and I said ok, and went in at 11am the next morning to order the car and sign the deal. In all, I received 5 emails back (5 dealers/salespeople did not bother to even respond). The next best offer was from a dealer offering $500 off MSRP. So no one came even close to the $2500 over invoice offer. PM me if you want to know the dealer name and salespersons name and number. FYI, get the NAV and comfort access if you can, the are great options in my opinion.

I think I might change my mind... and add the NAV and Comfort Access now. Looks like people with the NAV package seem to find it useful. As for the comfort access... I think that is just a little icing on the cake. By the way... Titanium Silver is a sweet color choice.
