Question

Ok so now my car has been at the dealer for over a week and according to them they have replaced the complete I-Drive unit 3 times and all 3 units are bad. I am a bit nervous with this dealer as the service writer had not ever driven an SMG car before. I had to move it for him when I dropped it off. According to them they replaced every component in the dash 3 times. I interpert this as "we keep tearing this thing apart over and over again" Is there someone I can call?

I believe 3 times with out fixing it correctly gets you to the area called Lemon Law. Contact the correct BMW rep and carefully explain and document your situation. If justified they may replace your car. I remember someone on this forum had their e60 replaced for I drive failures.

I would agree - try to get a new car, especially if you own it. Nothing would more more expensive than a 5-series out of warranty with electronic issues!

No, it has to go in three times - they have only had the car once, they are just telling him that they have replaced it three times to no avail. Obviously they are doing something wrong.

That is correct one visit but they changed the same part 3 times. Either BMW has a part issue or a dealer issue because something is not right. Tomorrow morning they will be trying it again with another complete new system. If this does not take care of it I am really going to have an issue.

Alot of times, it's poor dealership that is the source of frustratration and improper repairs. In Houston, there are at least 4 dealers to repair from.

That's no Pinto, in fact, it's not even a Ford. It's a little green Gremlin.
