hey folks, just wondering if I can get a yearly oil change covered under maintenance. There is no way Im going to get 16K miles this year, and my one year is in the October timeframe.

I remember someone mentioning that they will change the oil once a year (free of charge) regardless of mileage...just wondering if this is true? And if it is, how do I approach my SA to do it?

-thanks in advance!

The service indicator will go on at one year if you haven't already changed the oil because of mileage. Then you can take the car in to the dealer and they will change the oil as part of regular maintenance at no charge to you.

The service indicator is not necessarily set for 1 year. I have a 2006 530I delivered June 22, 2005 and my service indicator indicates April 2007, which is 1 year +11 months. I currently have 12500 miles.

My SA told me thay I am entitled to one free low milage oil change on the anniversary of the purchase incase I am not going to hit 15,000 miles. I have 6500 miles on my car and will not hit 15000 this year. So I plan to get a low milage oil change in November. Any dealer should honor it and they do not typically reset the counter.
