I spotted some information from a 'different' source last night ABI

Now the question is whether I should go for a 535d or a 540i!?!?!?

...although your post seemed to imply new 535d due to insurance relisting, which I thought was a bit of an assumption - no mention in the official information - what do you think?

Indeed, but that might just be due to the 'rebranding' from 'Sport' to 'M Sport' but the insurance group has definitely gone from 18 to 19. (Same for 530d, 525d has gone from 17 to 18) It's a big guess but the only reason would be increased power? Surely a name change wouldn't have that affect???

There are also some new colours one being Monaco Blue. Mystic Blue and Oxford green 2 are being discontinued.

There is only minor price difference b/w 545i and 550i SE model: 42445 pounds vs 43550 pounds = about 1000 pounds different = about $2000 different in US. But I don't think it's going to be that much different in US.

In case of 745i vs 750i in US, price changes from $70600 to $71200. Only $600 increase. What a change, huh! So, for 545i I think it might be just $1K different.

I'm sure it wouldn't be unique for a car to have it's group adjusted based on the industry's experience of typical repair costs etc. a few months into a model's life? You think they need a big excuse to charge us more money? Given the complete lack of evidence (at this point....) for a power increase on the 535d, this is my guess at the moment.

Possibly, but if you buy a 'old' 535d it will be a smidgen cheaper on the insurance in theory...

We know the enhanced engine is coming, it's just when... Even if they don't boost the power, some weight would be saved...

Thats strange

Why discontinue Mystic ?

They are introducing Mystic onto the E90 in September to be the lighter blue, because monaco blue is so dark
