no free oil change even after one year?

My Ride: 2006 525
so i took my car in yesterday figuring id get a free oil change...its been a year. the SA said BMW now has a policy where they only go by the service indicator and you dont get an automatic oil change every year. since my service indicator said i have 3000 miles to go he didnt give it to me.
i wasnt too thrilled. they also didnt wash my car when they gave it back to me either. im not too happy with BMW Manhattan :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown:

Why change oil if not needed?
The new Long Life oils, and even more important,
the oil filters, are so good that no extra oil changes are needed.
We live in the 21st century!
I will take my car next winter for the first oil service,
about 1,5 years after deliver.
If needed, this summer I will add a half litre/litre of Castrol LL.

My SA in CT also states that they will only change the oil when idrive recommends it. I needed to take it in for other reasons and asked if they would go ahead and change the oil now (about 2000 miles early) so I wouldn't have to come back and they refused. Kind of a pain in the butt.

My Ride: Currently: (3/1/06) 2002 530i black on black prem, sport, cold, xenon.
I'm going to keep the puppy for a while so I expect to pay for my first oil change myself, which will be when I hit 3000 miles or about 100 days after purchase. I know the synthetic stuff last longer but after the break in period I want to change the oil out. It can't hurt and its the least I can do for a 70G car.
Question is what else should I get flushed out and replaced?

i thought [ from talking to my dealer] that bmw's policy was at the indicator value or once every year. give NA BMW a call.
