The stock wheels and tires are 62 and 64 lbs front and rear respectively.? You can shave 14 lbs of unsprung weight off each corner, improve the ride, noise, braking, cornering and acelleration with the 19" Goodyears on lightweight rims.

I'm running Micheling Pilot Sport A/S on the OEM 18" rims now, and I really miss my 19" Goodyears.? They are quieter, the handling is astounding, and I'm over .2 sec quicker in my timed acceleration runs.? IMO this is by far the best and most significant performance improvement you can make to the car.

Why did you switch back to the 18"??

The 18's are my 'winter' setup. I'll put the Goodyear's back on in March. Can't wait...

I bet you can't wait Can you tell me how different the ride is between the 19" and the 18"? Did you have to do any modifications (spacers etc.) to put the 19" on?

I have the Pirelli P sero Rozzo that came with the wheels. The tires are quiet either in agressive driving (most of the time ) and normal/highway driving. They are good in dry and OK in wet conditions. One think I noticed about the tires is that are very smooth and you will predict/ notice right of way when exceeding the limiits of it. From the tires I remember I used to have the Michelin Pilot Sports in my E46M and were ok, I can asy similar to the Pirellis I have now. Then I changed them to the Bridgestones Potenza S03s . That was a difference, those tires were glued on the road in dry and wet BUT they are very heavy tires. I pulled down some specs and those were the heavier tiires out there; so the car felt a bit heavier. My friend had Yokos ES100 in his E39 and were almost OK but developed (2 sets) after just a few miles some bumps making them sound. Now he has the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 (PS2) and he says are great. Very good reviews also from many owners in tire rack..so i guess I will give them a try. So far I have placed 14,500 miles in my Pirellis and the rears are 85 to 90% gone..so maybe in another 1000 miles I need new ones (before the rainy season here in Florida )..

Hope this helps

Really, I got 30,000 miles from my PZeros. I drove lightly on them, I guess.

I guees so a06144.. I thiink I have a bigger foot thatn the other the car with the sport package is fun. Now that my tires are almost gone I'm able to slide it a bit on some corners.. This is the first time my tires last more than12k miles. My former Mroaster and M3 eat the tires like an eraser on a cement wall..9 to 10k miles were gone....
