Thanks cd. Here's hoping my 545i, purchased in June 2005, was made "from 3/05." How can I find out the build date of my car? Thanks again.

I will receive my E61 with Prof Radio (European model) in 3-4 weeks....
So, normally, I (it...) should be able to manage the MP3 format.
Just one question... Do I have to ask for a software upgrade or will it be done directly through a "factory" setup????
The worst thing in this.... is that I asked this question to BMW one month ago... and no one was not able to answer me... !!!

I had the CCC replaced recently due to a glitch where the lawyer screen would boot in German! Achtung etc.
They upgraded the CIP to 19.2 and RDS works. I wonder if this new computer would be able to accept the retrofit for mp3 if I get CIP 20 installed

I just made an appointment with my BMW dealer for CIP upgrade and steering wheel noise problem for next Monday.
My service advisor told me the CIP will take about 1.5 days to upgrade.

Thanks for the Service Bulletin on the MP3 issue! I have a 9/05 build and MP3 disks do not work. Fortunately, I have a service appointment tomorrow regarding a couple of issues along with MP3 issue. I have the notice printed out and will pass along to the service advisor. Hopefully the fix will work. I'll let you know tomorrow.
