Hello fellow E60 members,

Does anybody know what the "BATTERY WARRANTY" for our E60??? For the past few days when i start my E60, it feels like it didn't want to start, it feels weak, so I went to the dealer for service and to check my battery, and my SA said that the battery is low and needs some charge...And so they did charge it... and I ask them if they can change the battery for free since my car has only 23,000 miles and its still warranty... And my SA said nope they can't change it and I have to buy a new one ($354.00).... if I want it change.... Is this true???

You might want to try your luck at another dealer, I've read a few posts where members have gotten a new battery under warranty, due to problems similar to yours. GL, keep us posted...

I think dealers always rip you off on battery and tires if you buy from them. Try another dealer for a free battery or go to parts store for battery.

FWIW, the Interstate Battery website says that an E60 battery would cost about $140 installed from one of their dealers. That's a model with 800CCA and an 85-month pro-rata warranty. $345 seems pretty steep.

Plenty of us over on this side of the Atlantic have had batteries (and starter motors) replaced under warranty, particularly with the Diesel engines. Mine was replaced under the equivalent of your CPO warranty at 3 years old and 20-odd thousand miles. I know things are a little different over there, but I would try again at another local $tealer.

What's covered and what's not should be in writing, possibly in your owner's manual or related documents. Matter of fact, by law it has to be in writing, and given to you at the time of sale. Worse case you should be able to call customer service and find out. If it is, then you prolly wanna give another dealer your biz from now on.
