They will be more willing to offer you a discount on cars on the lot. If you order a car, there's the 1-2 month waiting period where you might cancel and dealers want to avoid that.

If you are set on a 2008 just pick out your options and go to a few area dealers and tell them that you will be making a decision in three days and it will be based on price. By me, they are very competitive. Go to the closest or preferred one last and see what his deal is and if its not good ask him to match your lowest offer.

Unlikely you will find a dealer offering a discount on the new 535i when you order. Only way to get a discount when ordering is to do European Delivery with a ED friendly dealership.

Is ED an actual discount or is it that you get a free trip to Germany?

ED can save you up to $9K off MSRP. $70K 550i can be had for $61K. Factor in the great MF for the 2007 550i, you have a killer deal.

I think most ED dealers will give $1000 over ED invoice, which is much lower than dealer invoice.

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel! Previous cars retired: 2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...

You may want to consider CPO as well, I was able to get another 3 years on the warranty, as well as another 60 K miles including maintenacne until 2010.

No one else does that with NEW cars, let alone used. Then you can bump up the options and the motor!

Just another option to consider.
