Dropped the car off for maintenance, this morning, and they gave me a sweet 135I convertible. I love the handling. It feels like a go-kart. Quick as a whip, however, despite what everybody says, I experienced lots of turbo lag.

Anyway, it was a beautiful sunny morning and I drove it with the top down. It was a balmy 18 degrees F outside, but I didn't care. If you saw a goofy looking guy in a 135 in MA this morning, it was me.

If you see me this evening driving around with the top down from about 4:30 PM to about 5:15 PM, honk or flash your lights; that would be me.

What, it's just a little dust!!

I thought the same thing at first, but I think it must have been dropped off just before I picked it up as the heat came on immediately after I started it and the water temp was already pretty warm. BTW, I noticed they have an actual water temp gauge. Is this the start of something good for future generations of BMW???

Tonight, I thought of disabling the DTC and DSC and I have to say that I was VERY impressed. The lag almost disappeared, it was very torquey, and, well, I'd better stop in case my dealer reads this. Let's just say that the car is very fun and very tossable, even though it's as heavy as a 5 series. The small size makes it much more maneuverable than our E60s and tomorrow I will get to drive it one more day. Fun, fun, fun. Yep, the top was down on my way back from work and on a ride with the wife. We must have looked pretty crazy to other drivers, but who cares?

Damn, a lot of people get sweet loaners from BMW. My dealer only has 528xi, 328xi, X3, or X5 3.0 (which are ALWAYS not available).

I want one of those twin turbo ones for once!

/rant off

I'm sure you had a hell of a lot of fun with that sweet little ride!

Oh, man, it was sweet. You should have seen me and the wife, last night. We had heavy coats on, hats, gloves, and she also wrapped a scarf around her face and head. I thought we were going to be stereotyped by some ignoramus as being up to no good, with the top down and all. Anyway, that little car has a lot of moxie and it's fun to drive.
