one one more thing.. pruduct product product... know your product, you can`t sell what you dont know... the test your going to have to take my be a pain as well...

not sure how the managers are there, you could be in limbo for a couple of weeks till they feel you can go out and sell.. unless you know someone in managment...i wouldnt let a geen pea on the floor till he or she can give me a full walk around.. .. if i was you starting in a new field, find out who is there top guy in sales.. follow him learn from him... take some of he`s trats and use them in your own way... after your done with him, move to the next guy and so on and so forth...

i could go on and on and on...

well good luck once again..
Amen on knowing the ins and outs of the cars you sell. I found that most car salespeople don't know jack shit about the cars that they sell. It is always refreshing to find the rare one that does.

+1... thats where a guy like my self comes in... i take pride in wat i do... alot of people already come in to a dealer with boxing gloves up and ready to swing.... my job is to lower thoes gloves to about waist level... then the wall comes down.. a smile and a deal... listen the cars, most of them sell them selves... but you need to sell your self before anything... when it comes to a new car they are all the same everyone ownes them for the same amount of money. a customer is not really shopping a car, there shopping a sales person..

o and jeff this is important... the prep department get to know the manager as good as you can(dont ass kiss) they are your life line to getting your cars ready clean and on time... dont give money no matter wat(unless you have 4 delivers and there swamped) get to know the SA as good as you can as well cause you can get deals from them.. once again dont give money.. i have never givin money to any SA prep guy(unless i was getting a full detail from prep on my own car) i always help them out moving cars getting cars cleaned.. you will be surprized as to just by saying i got it ill help u out, they will remmember you cause not to offten does a sales rep help out.. and they will do that little extra that will help along the way... others my say prep is a bunch of idiots and low life`s.. as in most cases they are.. but they are the realist people in the store they now where everything is and they now how to get things done quick and under the radar...... be a team player as i think you are.. the best thing you have going for you is that you owned your own buisness and you know how customers are.. they want it now and fast... so study study study that product... you already have a 5er,everything else is more or less the same in the cars and trucks your going to sell.. if i was you i would work with the 3er first and work your way around the rest of the cars as you go... and most of all, DONT DONT comsume your self all day reading it will drain you big time... get the keys for the cars sit in them play with everything... if they let you take them on test drives learn the difference in ride power comfort.. so this way you can match the car with the driver.. alot of times people come in for one car and leave with something completly different.. thats cause the sales person did there job and match the right car with the right person...

like i said before i can keep going and going

best wishes on your new job...

Joe
