As i said the only bad thing about Synter Sunngdale is the price, it is an expensive area though so they do charge more. The actual customer service and quality are top notch and they price match, can't really ask for more than that.

Thanks for the advice;

This is what needs to be done;
20k service, Brake Fluid change, Oil and filter change
Also...
issue with headlights misting up inside and leaving residue inside the glass
issue with sport automatic transmission (feels like there's a tank of kanagroo juice in there )
I-drive issue - Favourite buttons keep coming up on the menu without even touching them
SOS button error message pops up from time to time
Air conditioning needs checking and perhaps re-gassing as it's stopped blowing cold air

Copper Thames Ditton quoted me ?220 +VAT for the service, the excluded the oil, as I said I will provide my own. They also said that any jobs that are not covered under warranty, they will charge ?78 per half an hours labour!! Apart from the service, do you think these issues will be covered under warranty?

I recall all my dealings with Cooper in Croydon to be very agreeable. http://www.coopercroydonbmw.co.uk/

Plenty of comment here which are negative to dealers; well, I?ve been fortunate with my local dealer whom I have a good relationship with, mind you with an e60 and e65 they receive plenty of business from me! All dealers will attempt to extract the? maximum? from any potential client as their focus is to make margin on the after sale servicing; dealers do not make the margins they used too selling cars per se - the prices quoted are often outrageous and must be challenged!

I?d be somewhat confused by the problem list above with your car ? these cars are condition based serviced and your car would appear to require a 20k service, is this it's first service? In that case with just 20k miles on your car the service here would be an ?oil? service only; the other issues would be not be required if there is only 20k on your car.

Normally dealers will quote the oil inclusive of the service in my experience; the cost quoted to me has been circa ?80 for the fully synthetic oil that?s used - ?220 is a little high, my last oil service was ?195+VAT, inclusive of oil, on my e60 - however, as you list other items e.g. brake fluid, filters etc. this suggests a much higher mileage on your car. As to labour rates these do vary over the UK, ?78 for half an hour seems steep to me, I?ve been used to ?95/hour, with quotes up to ?130/ hour.

The other problems with your cars iDrive; headlamp, moisture fouling inside lens (common complaint that has been fixed under warranty on some cars); SOS errors intermittently (not an unknown problem); and AC problem would be covered by warranty if your car has less than 60k miles I?d suggest, likewise the reported problem with the cars erratic performance should be investigated under warranty.

In my experience provided the car has been regularly serviced by BMW I?ve never had any aggravation with reported problems not being dealt with under warranty when the car has been inside its warranty period, indeed beyond the warranty period on occasions in the past.

I dont know where these ppl get off. I HATE dealers - they cheating sly )$%*$)'s

I took my car into Sytner Sunningdale (SL5 9EE) and waited for about 8 hours just to get my steering wheels creek looked at. It was booked in and so I wasnt expecting more than 2-3 hours. They said they had other cars to see before mine hence the delay.
I also dislike all these large companies like this (straststone, sytner, etc). There is a sytner here in notts and in typical fashion, no one is bothered to offer even a hello when I walk in. Everything is cut and dry. The smiles are only put on when a car purchase is made and about to pay for it. Then all the staff have a "joker" wide smile. The next day once you have bought the car and happen to bring it back for some issues,... they don't ever want to know you. They could just walk past you as if you are a ghost. Nope, I will not go to these large companies and give them any business even if its to buy a cheap BMW car shampoo.

I bought my car from a smallish dealer in the end who are 40 miles away from me. All retrofitted parts I bought from this dealer and I travel 40miles to get my car serviced there. Its the Knights group Stafford, formerly knowns as Radford. Anyone here using them?

cheers
