Iceman,
The drop off option sounds convenient... but I as I understand it someone "drives" your car to a port. That part bothers me a little. Might they abuse it? Possibly light up a big "cuban". If they were "trucking" the car back... the drop off thing might sound more appealing........ anyway........I'm undecided on the drop off.

I was thinking about staying in Munich the first night... driving and staying somewhere different each day, stopping along the way to see interesting sites. I've never been to Germany before. Maybe making a loop and taking the car back myself. Good idea or not?

Thanks,

That only applies to Italy. It's to do with some Italian law about trucking cars out of their country. Any other drop off, the car will be trucked to the port by the shipping agent. I dropped off in Nice with 2040 on the clock. Took delivery in California with 2042. They don't drive your car other than on and off the trucks/trains at drop off, the port, onto the ship, off the ship, to customs, to VPC, onto the truck and off the truck at the dealer.

That's correct. They drive it on the truck and off the truck! That's it!

No typo.

It has 333 HP. We don't use BHP in Europe. So your number is smaller, since it's BHP.

Vancouver, WA USA is just (north) across the border from Portland, OR....... it's really like one big city separated by the Columbia River (the state border).

I commented on this in another post http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=...indpost&p=91022

Then I did a little search and found this post.

Really, really bad weather to the south. Like I said, 10 feet of new snow in Austria over the last couple of weeks. I'm sure if it ever stops snowing they will get it cleaned up but you might want to skip Venice. Be careful on those summer tires.

I love the A99 by-pass around Munich - great place to open it up a bit I've seen my limiter several times on that road! Weather permitting of course

Have you made any plans? Look me up if you get close to Stuttgart!

I guess you haven't seen the ARD Brennpunkt tonight, UltraPLanet!?

A99 is no option. It looks like it keeps snowing for the entire week.

UltraPlanet,

I've been PM-ing with Iceman....... the weather in and around Munich sucks right now... as of yesterday, I booked train tickets from Munich to Paris. I'm going to stay in Munich for a couple of days...... then drop the car off and head for Paris... I'll have to wait and play with the car when it arrives in the States.

Thanks,
Spartacus_33
