Thumbs up

**disclaimer**

**all this is subject to change?love driving the car so much this phase may quickly pass?just kicking things around a bit**

Thinking of moving to a 550 or maybe even something entirely different?I?ve had my issues with the car but that?s not really the reason I?m thinking about (all have been fixed now?and they all seemed to be 1st year type of items?nothing ever that stranded me etc?) having said that?here is the deal that I?m structuring?seems like it is a good/great deal for my friend?I wanted to make sure you guys (and few) gals thought so too?

Background
2004 545 Sport Auto
MSRP $62,145
Invoice $56,805
Upgrades (out of pocket/low estimate) $6500

major upgrades are:
*M-Kit
*19's
*Eisman Exhaust
*Bluetooth enabled

So this is what I?m kicking around with a friend:

Give me my upgrade money and take over my lease payment of $505.00 per month (not including tax)?the car is 8 months old and has 5000 miles on it.

I just ran the lease numbers at the current 545 .001 MF / 12k per year 60% res / and buying the car at invoice you would have to come up with approx $6600 out of pocket to buy the payment down to that level. So it seems to me that this is a more than fair deal?do you agree?don?t want to take advantage of a good friend?I deal with leases quite a bit so I'm fairly confident it?s a sweet deal?but maybe I?m missing something.

Thanks in advance for your input

The residual on the 545i is 59%, not 60% for 36 months, 36,000 miles.

Thanks for the heads-up / figures its gone down just a bit since I bought in that it is later in the year and the MF has gone down / That just makes my deal that much better in that with a 59% res, keeping all other variables the same it would take approx another $600.00 to match the payment...

The deal is phenomenal - can't believe your lease payment is that low! Is that for 5 years or something?

Personally I wouldn't buy you out of your mods. Mods are personal and usually you wash your money down the toilet when you buy them because the next buyer is not going to want them.

Selling a car you've had for 8 months is financially unwise. You must have had to pay a large cap cost reduction $$ to get your payments that low on a 3 year lease. You are prepared to just walk away from that?

If you want to keep the good friend, don't sell him the car. That's one way of lossing a good friend. Putting it this way, your friend would never marry your wife if you divorced her. There's something about cars and women that are very similar - and no, I'm not talking about "used." You can love your wife/car to death, but once you sell/divorce her, a good friend is not someone to hand it/her too. The above analogy is not meant to degrade women in any way. It's the only analogy I can think at this time. :'(

All valid points but this is a question to be taken from a buyers perspective and not the sellers (is this a good deal for the friend) having said that if you are the ?buyer? in this scenario?and you find value in those mods (because you like the M-Kit, choice of wheels, exhaust)?and you are in the market for a 545?this would seem to be a tremendous deal (for the buyer).
