I have a 2004 525i with just over 40,000 miles. My 525i has a CPO warranty that covers everything except for maintenance. Do you think it neccessary to buy the maintenance warranty also.
After 4/50,000 I will need:
Inspection II at 60,000
New brake jod in 22,000
Oil changes
etc.
This could start to add up to a lot.
What have others paid for the maintenance warranty and is it valid at all BMW dealerships?
Thanks

If you're even the slightest bit 'handy' then I'd pass on the maintenance coverage if I were you.
Just about anyone should be able to change the oil, replace brake pads, wiper blades, rotate tires, and replace a microfilter. Do a quick search on e60.net and you can even reset the idrive on your own. All you really need is a set of metric sockets and the materials (very inexpensive). Depending on your financial situation it may be easier to simply sign up for the BMW maintenance plan, but even if you find a decent independent shop in your area they should be able to replace/change the above items for significantly less than the BMW plan.

I just wanted to know what the Extended Maintenance Warranty cost, from people who have purchased it. With the Inspection II, brake job, oil changes and etc. all after 50,000 miles, I know this will easily be in excess of $2,000. What is the cost of the Extended Maintenance Warranty and is it valid at all BMW dealers?

Thanks PJ, much help. Great site. I already have a CPO warranty, so I am looking at that Extended Maintenance Warranty. I think that is going to be the ticket, great price.
