My Ride: Soon to be 2006 530xi Silver on gray. Premium, Premium Sound, Sports(lite), Cold Weather pkgs, Navi
Ordinarily I don't put much stock in extended maintenance plans but I am new to BMW. I will be picking up a CPO 530xi next week and they have already floated the $1600 plan. I am waiting for the details or duration and coverage from the sales associate.
Has anyone had experience with BMW's extended maintenance plan? Also a number of people have said that upkeep is pricy. What have you spent on average per year in the last 2-3 yrs of ownership of a non-exotic E60(ie M5)?
I love the feedback.

not worth it for extended maintenance plan. i asked BMW for the maintenance schedule and did the math. it'd be cheaper to pay for it each time.

I think its totally worth it because one break job runs around $1000 in addition all the oil changes and the BMW rental when you bring it in. Very worth it in my opinion.

ask to see the service records and look in the idrive of the car. Its only for scheduled repairs according to idrive so since its an extra 50,000 miles or 2 years from in service date its possible that your car wouldnt even fall within that time frame for scheduled repairs.
If you see you need new breaks in the next 10,000-15,000 miles then it would pay for itself. Otherwise no it wouldnt really be worth the cost.
