I don't think that they would have enough 545i's to sell between March/April and September when they supposedly come out with the 550i.
The last thing they want to have happen is run out of e60's with V8's to sell. Especially in the US the V8's are selling well.

On a different note. Did you guys heare the rumor about the new 555i?
If not, you heard it here first.

I heard they were going to make it a 575i. Only because they want to be like Ferrari SO BAD. :blink:
