and was told here that it would not be possible. I called several dealers and they said the same thing that it was too late. Then I called Joern at Passport BMW in MD and he started working on it. Yesterday he gave me the production number and the VIN. Anyone wanting to do ED should talk to Joern. He has the process down perfectly and is a real straight shooter, no games just business. My third ED with Joern.

2006 550i ED 4-13-06. Silver Gray (last one was sapphire), Red Orange (nay Auburn) leather, step (started having second thoughts but could not change it the next day to SMG/sport, oh well, next time), heated wheel, folding seats, shades, comfort access, comfort seats, CWP, heated rear seats, NAV, HUD, Sirius. Did not order L7 because did not use it much the last few times around.

Why did you order an 06, rather than the 07?

The 06 has a lease deal with a really high residual right now for a 24-mo lease. In addition, BMW sent me a $1,500 certficate applicable towards any 2006 V8 BMW (for troubles related to a 2002 745).

If this is your 3rd ED, and all with Joern, then why did you call several other stealers first? Those of us who have done ED with Joern (myself included) know how great the process is, and I can't imagine why your first call wouldn't have been to Mr. Esser.

May I ask what you saved by the ED plan (vs. MSRP)? And how much is your plane fare?

Cheers,

Looked for a dealer closer to home who pleaded to give them a chance the next time I was looking; but have sadly once again disappointed.

Everyone's deal will be different according to supply/demand and their dealer's appetite to do a deal, as well as lease terms offered by BMWFS. However, right now for me it is a saving of about $200/month -- almost the difference between getting a 530 vs. a 550.

This is only the 3rd recent ED -- all of them with Joern in addition to 3 friends that I referred to him who also picked up their cars at the same time. Previous EDs were with other dealers.
