My Ride: Silver grey MY05 530i steptronic, premium and navigation package, and HUD
Hi, new visitor to the forum here
Anyways, went to the dealership today to buy the 530i, my first color choice for the car was titanium grey but the dealership said there were none available in Canada at all and they would have order it in. They told me it would take until March, maybe sooner. So, in the end i settled on silver grey which im also very happy with. But i just wanted to know does it really take that long to manufacture a bmw?

I think it only takes a couple of weeks to build but the 2+ months is the time it takes for the car to enter production since others are waiting for their cars as well and they can only build so many a day.

If your dealership would give you their reserved production slot just before closing spec change, you could save two weeks. I did it for my order.
Placed order on 11/23, and my new born baby is moving in the plant now.

[/quote]I ordered on 11/27. Car's completion date is 12/8. Should have it by the first week in January. Me thinks your dealer speaks with forked tongue. 530i silver grey.

I ordered my 530i on Sat. 11/27. It is in production now. Scheduled completion date is 12/8. I should have it by first week in January says my dealer. Seems pretty quick in comparison with others. Maybe I got lucky?
