Couple of weeks ago i drove my 06' 525i of the driveway and get a call from the wife saying there is a few drops of green liquid where the car was parked, so i turned around went back but just saw droplets of water nothing that looked like a coolant. no dash light nothing, so i firured everyhing is fine then i start noticing white smoke from the tail pipe. it was raining in LA and fairly cold so i figured it was condensation but today i checked and the smoke continues even after the engine has reached optimun temp. Now i research online and all the signs are pointing towards HEAD GASKET LEAK.I only have 53000 miles and think this is ridiculous to be having a major issue already. Please can someone recommend a reasonable & honest INDY Mechanic in the LA /SOUTHBAY AREA. Any advice would be appreciated.

My 06 530i has been in the garage twice for mysterious coolant leaking, and pressure tested! I didn't use the car all week and its freezing here in Holland, and I spotted a wet patch of coolant under the car.
I feared the head gasket too but apparently they are NOT common on E60's. Firstly, in winter you will spot more smoke in your mirror. If you car hasn't been driven for a long time with it over heating, I seriously doubt that is going to be your problem.
The head mechanic at the BMW dealer told the independent guys I'm using that its usually one of the hoses coming from the radiator. (I saw the whole part and its like a small network of hoses).

Get it pressure tested and that should pinpoint a leak.
Dutch.

Do you have bubbles coming up in the coolant resivoir tank when the car is running? This was indicate air getting into the coolant system.

Check your oil for any tale-tale signs of water as well. Pull the dipstick and remove the oil cap. Inspect each closely for water/mixing. A severe head gasket leak will cause the oil to turn the color of a milkshake. But a beginning leak may leave small deposits of water on the cap and dipstick. Good luck and let us know exactly what it was!

I highly doubt it's the head gasket, some water vapor from the exhaust is normal even after warmup. Probably a small coolant leak from a hose connection.
