Damn! you are lucky... I have the worst BMW dealer in my city (Calgary BMW) they just smell $$$ but I have a best private BMW specialist repair shop (germancarspecialist.com) and they are very nice and cheap.

It'll be a 2 hr drive south from Milwaukee but my dealer in Schaumberg (Patrick) has been top notch for going on 6 years and two cars. The first Bimmer (03 525) wasn't from that dealer and I felt like they rolled out the red carpet each time. Now I have my current 550 from them plus my 525 and (as best as I can tell from the limited times I've had it in)they took it up a bit. Little gratis jobs on the 525, stuff like that.

I know it is a bit of a drive and you certainly have closer options, but the round trip may have been less time you spend on your last ordeal.

I have had great experiences with two dealers (BMW of Newport and Foreign Motors West of Natick, MA) - but nothing but awful BS, condescending attitude, extraordinary overcharging. and even service ripoffs from a dealer in RI that treats customers as if they have a local monopoly on BMWs.

My point - there are good dealers out there - but there are bandits as well.

You don't want to give them a shout-out?

Actually having my car in for an oil change next week and a few things looked at.

Hopefully this will be a nice experience

Maybe I'll ask them to remove the floor mats...
You should go to an independent BMW mechanic as they will charge you less per hour for the floor mat removal!!

I've mostly had great service from Bob Smith BMW through the years. The interesting part to this is I drive past Rusnak BMW every time I go to Bob Smith BMW as Rusnak is fully stocked with the condescending, self-absorbed type of salespeople and SA's!! So in review I drive past Rusnak BMW (5 miles from home) to Bob Smith BMW (16 miles from home) for service and the purchase of every BMW I've ever purchased and have sold directly to my friends and family another 15 or so cars, simply because Rusnak is too self-involved to care about a customer in the first place! I just think it's amazing that they are both selling the same product in VERY different ways! But I digress....
