I just came back from the annual service visit to Herb Chambers BMW, where we'd bought the car. I was in and out in 90 minutes exactly (time to walk to Starbucks, drink coffee, check email and walk back). SA Ali Kooros handled the visit, and was very appreciative of my business. Interestingly, the car had 16,300 miles on the ODO, but in-car indicator said the oil change wasn't needed for another 2800 miles (maybe I'm not driving hard enough--
). They changed the oil anyway, and said I'll be bringing it back when the 2800 miles have elapsed for yet another free oil change. What's not to like?
I saw a black 2008 M5 in the showroom with an eye-popping sticker of $99,600.
A loaded 750i was $12K less.

you must have more time on your hands than I do. The thought of going in for unecessary service would not thrill me too much. Seems like overkill on my part. My dealer just changed my oil 2000 miles early as I was in for some other work. My oil interval was reset with no problem. Fred
