I am looking for a good shop to get an oil change done on my 545, do any of you have a non-dealer shop that you recommend?

I've used "The Dr." in Fountain Valley, they specialize in BMW's, MBZ's and Volvo's. They're right off the 405 at Euclid Ave. I haven't used them with my e60 but I did use them years ago with my Volvo. Good guys over there....

The best way is the DIY way. I do mine every 5k miles.

Check out http://www.roninautowerks.com/index.html if you want to pay someone to do it for you. He's done some more on my 2004 530i.

I would like to do the oil changes by myself too, the only question is don't i need to lift the car to the same level front and back or is it enough to lift it in the front alone ? how do you do it ? I have read the diy for the rest of the stuff

I asked around town when I first bought a BMW and I had 4 different people all recommend the same shop to me... Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa. I am on my 2nd BMW now and use them or the dealer and that is it. Now that my free maintenance is up I go there for everything. By the way, I am sure they would be happy to change your oil for you but I would not want to categorize them as a quickie oil change shop. They actually do all the maintenance that your street/ track car will require. They also have the computer tool needed for our new cars, I believe it is called a GT1.
