Greetings:

Checked a couple of dealers here in SD as well as Irvine BMW....so far best deal I have come up with on a 3 year, 36K mile lease with $ 2,500 out the door (including 1st mo. and registration) is $ 2,500 above invoice cost for a new 2005 545i......this translates into 35 remaining payments of $ 793 (Since 545i comes fairly loaded, as is, ONLY option I am going for is Sport Package, which brings quoted configuration price to $ 57,650).....I know about the European Delivery Program but will probably not have time to go over there during my busy business season and my current lease runs out in March.....is this a good deal, or can I do better?....I'm not afraid to go up to Orange County or inland if I can save another $ 1000+ or so. Many thanks.

Call Jerry Bendel at South Bay BMW. He is the Sr. Fleet Manager. He will tell you the straight scoop over the phone. I used to be in the car business and I trust this guy. He has been there for a long time. I have bought three cars from him. South bat BMW is in Hermosa Beach. Go to www.southbaybmw.com for the phone number.

While not in CA, I think you deal is good. If the $2,500 out of pocket covers all your fees & your sales tax rate is 7%, it looks like your MF is about 3.75%. The base rate is 3.0%. You may be able to get a lower pmt (maybe $25-35/mo) by reducing the MF or amount paid, but in general I think its a fair deal, esp. if they are in an adv. coop. Is this the dealer you want to service your car? Is it worth going out of your market?

good luck.

Total cost = $ 57.62K
Money factor = .00160
Residual = 60%

Car would be bought out of my service; I would have it serviced at another, local dealer.

The base money factor is 0.00125 (or 3%). They 0.0016 is 3.8%. It adds about $1,200 to your deal. Dealers in your area may not go lower with the MF, but you can try.

Overall, it seems to be a competitive price.

Your deal is almost exactly like the one I'm looking for. What dealer has given you the best quote so far? Also, you must have another option because you should be at $57,140 with 545 with sport and dest. + $2,500.

Good catch...although, I believe BMW will force a satellite prep cost fee of $ 70 on you (whether you take it or not), which should bring cost to $ 57,210 --you just saved me $ 440 (looks as though he may be trying to double dip me on auto registration fees)....quote was from Irvine BMW--ask for Phillipe. This quote was following email inquiry (he is internet/fleet manager) and then followup. Maybe we can get a better price if we negotiate in tandem and both buy cars at same time, if it would work--only problem is I might not finalize deal until 1st half of January...let me know.

I did not log in last time. I sent Philipe an e-mail inquiry today as well but I have not received a quote from him yet. Maybe the $440 is for a regional advertising fee? I plan to go through ED, as I want to just enjoy that whole experience. I hopefully plan on ordering this week. My only options were sport and the satellite pre-wire. I like the idea of negotiating two deals at once. Contact me through a private message if you want to compare notes.
