I convinced my brother to get a 535i. He lives in SF and I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good dealer/salesperson.

A couple more questions:
1) How much over invoice is reasonable given the 535i is new and in high demand?
2) I just read in Motor Trend that their 335i overheated given it did not have an oil cooler - does the 535i have an oil cooler?

Thanks!

Talk to Dan (Torquey5). He's one of the top sales guys for BMW of SF and can help your brother out! I'm dead serious. He's helped a lot of other members on this forum, who live in the Bay Area. I'm sure he can give him a good deal.

A couple of outstanding BMW client reps comes to mind.

1) Victor Hung at Peter Pan BMW (San Mateo, CA). He's consistently among the top producers in the U.S., having won numerous awards and recognition for sales and customer service and support.
2) Grace Wong at WeatherFord BMW (Emeryville, CA). She is ditto like Victor. Both are very experienced and straight up professionals and will work with the clients in meeting your expectations.

GOOD LUCK & BEST REGARDS

Look no further than Dan (Torquey5). He'll take care of your brother. He's been taking care of the Bay Area e60ers! As for what constitutes a good deal, well I would say $1K over invoice is fair for everybody. I believe the 535i should have an oil cooler. Have your brother confirm with Dan that the 535i does have an oil cooler.

Thanks guys!

I would assume $1500-1750 over invoice would be more realistic given the 535i is new - is that reasonable?

That is a great deal for everyone. Now, tell your brother to see Dan and then after taking delivery he can come join us for a Cajun Crab House Meet!

I agree. Dan is a great guy and very much a relationship-type person. I'm saying that because he is my friend and he's my friend because he is a very personable and caring guy at heart. He had helped me out with small requests even before we became friends; when we only knew each other on this board. Try him out...and if he gives your brother any problems, I'll personally kick his a$$!!!! =)

Hello LowOrbit,

Let your brother know to ask for Dan Liu at BMW San Francisco, he can save $$$ when buying a BMW from Dan. As a bonus, Dan is very knowledgable about all aspect of BMW vehicles. Especially the E60, he should know... Dan drives an E60 himself

Very best,

freed0m
